In general, Nikka blended whisky is created from malt whisky distilled from malted barley in pot stills, and grain whisky made by distilling corn and other grains in a Coffey still. For this whisky, top-quality malted barley is used instead of corn in the Coffey still.
Sweet and spicy, with Christmas-cake spices and aromas of dark chocolate.
More rich and robust than some Japanese whiskies, this has dark, rich mocha notes with bitter chocolate and espresso on the palate. Lightness arrives in the form of cinnamon, nutmeg and orange and lemon peel.
A touch of peppery heat tamed by the rich fruit and spice.
